Dissemination of information on the Prime Minister and the Government

The Government Communications Unit is responsible for disseminating information about the Prime Minister and the Government. The unit issues reports on Government evening sessions and informal meetings and on ministerial committees, and it arranges press conferences for the Prime Minister and the Government as a whole.

The Director of Government Communications reports on matters covered at Government evening sessions and during other Government discussions, in accordance with instructions from the Prime Minister or other ministers. Ministerial committee meetings, other than those of the Cabinet Finance Committee, are attended by a Government information officer who reports on the matters discussed, in accordance with instructions from the chairman of the committee or the presenting minister.
