Government communications

The Prime Minister’s Office is responsible for the dissemination of Government information under the leadership of the Prime Minister. In practice, the Prime Minister’s Office handles the dissemination of information on, for example, Government negotiations and sessions plus decisions made by Cabinet Committees.  The individual ministries are responsible for providing information on their own administrative sectors.

The Prime Minister’s Office coordinates the dissemination of Government information especially in emergency situations and with specific reference to the EU. This is carried out by coordinating functions and issuing recommendations.

The Government Communications Unit is the unit responsible for the communications functions.
